A wonderful, relaxing experience!
A couple of years ago (Aug 2012?) I took my father for a kayak trip down the Morell River as a birthday gift. Even though he had fished it as a kid, he had never travelled its length. It’s a beautiful, scenic trip and an easy paddle, even for someone with little experience.

Donna could not have been more helpful. Paying in advance, she drove us to the starting point, gave good advice, showed us the safety gear stowed and away we went. She even suggested where along the route would be a good spot to stop and have a snack. At the end of the trip, we just pulled the kayak to shore, walked to our vehicle and drove home. No hassle or wait! I would recommend this experience to anyone! Visited August 2013.

Excellent experience!
The bike trail between Morell and St Peters is spectacular- beautiful water vistas, nice bridges, flat (of course) and great parks and stores at both ends. Kayaking on the Morell River is also sweet- easy down river with a variety of landscapes and just a good length. Visited July 2013.

Not to be missed
The other reviews were spot on; we spent a wonderful three hours paddling down the Morell seeing a Blue Heron take flight just in front of us, a couple of bald eagles and endless beautiful views from the drop off spot at Indian Bridge to the boat landing in Morell.

The experience was enhanced immensely by the owner, Donna, who looked after our bikes and bags, provided us a drink and a Belgian chocolate bar and drove us to the launching location all the while giving us a history lesson about the river and the area, and helped get us going on our way.

This powerhouse also has a book store and ice cream shop at her office within the railway station in Morell right beside the Confederation Trail. Check out the tables on the Terrace, which are made from recycled bicycle rims while enjoying the ice cream.

If you are in Morell on a Saturday in the summer, take in the Farmer’s Market, which runs from 9 to 1 and is located in the building at the park where you finish your river ride.

While I have enjoyed riding the trail from Summerside to St. Peter’s Bay, this kayaking excursion was definitely a highlight of our stay on the island.

I wanted to drop you a line about our trip. I know you probably don’t remember us (two girls, Sarah and Anne – from SC, USA. One dark haired and one blonde haired both shorter haha. We came on September 24th). We had such a wonderful time renting the bikes, canoe and paddle boards!!! I can’t tell you how thankful we were to be able to do that and to meet you! You were so kind and enjoyable to talk to! I wanted to not go back to SC and start working at Kingfisher, haha!! Anyway, you might not remember but you told us about a local artist Catherine MacLellan. I found her online once we got back and have been listening to her non -stop! Just wanted to let you know and thank you for the tip! You guys do a GREAT job of providing fun activities for people to do in beautiful PEI. I am already saving up to go back….and stay there!!!!

Hope you are enjoying the fall there! Thanks again and was really great to meet you!

It was amazing: unparalleled scenery, calm waters running our way, beautiful weather. This is a trip that anyone can do, whether you’ve kayaked or not and if you’re looking for a great way to spend an afternoon before the snow flies, this is it. More…

Don’t miss out on this amazing experience. It’s the best way to enjoy a leisurely PEI outing, whether you’re an “islander” or “come from away”. Bring along your camera and take some wonderful pictures while your at it!

Renting a kayak from Kingfisher is a wonderful way to explore the Morell River. Lots of beautiful birds, herons, of course the kingfisher and other wildlife. Try it sometime it is pretty great.
